Ryan is passionate about financial markets and identifying unique investment opportunities. He spent seven years in the mortgage industry where he worked for three of the largest mortgage lenders in the country. This provided a deep perspective into the housing market and the macro economic factors that impact it. Recognizing broader trends and understanding what drives them has allowed Ryan to be a successful active investor across a variety of industries.

Hugo is the General Partner and COO at Starship Ventures, where he has been building the firm alongside Sean Hoge since 2022. Together, they raised over $30M for Starship’s debut fund and established the platform as a leading early-stage investor in frontier technology. Hugo leads firm operations, capital formation, and strategic partnerships across Starship’s LP base, also working closely with founders on company building, fundraising strategy, and long-term positioning.
Prior to Starship, Hugo spent nearly a decade across public & private market transactions, leading operations and sales teams before joining at Square Global Markets as a liquidity provider in complex and hybrid equity derivatives. There, he worked with global investment banks to manage and recycle risk across the inter-dealer broker ecosystem, developing the capital markets instincts he now brings to venture. Hugo's journey into venture capital began after a deep reflection that he wanted to play a major role in creating value, not simply transacting it.

David began his startup journey as co-founding CTO of Leap Motion, one of the first AR/VR companies. Nick brings experience as a thinker, founder (1x exit) and as an investor across different sectors of deep tech including biotech. Nick holds an MA in Classics from Oxford University.
Based in Japan, Peter Sayn-Wittgenstein supports Starship Ventures by unlocking East Asia. He brings hands-on experience as a serial entrepreneur, having successfully scaled companies and leadership teams across technology, consumer, and services.
Peter is the Founder & CEO of TeamFirst, which runs Japan’s leading bilingual future-leader community and serves as a primary entry point into Japan for category-defining international companies such as DoorDash, supporting executive hiring and go-to-market execution. He works closely with pan-Asian corporations, family offices, and long-term capital partners, aligning global ambition with disciplined local execution.
In parallel, Peter advises the Tokyo Metropolitan Government on finance, innovation, and global positioning, and collaborates with partners connecting Japan with the GCC’s innovation and investment ecosystem.
